The automatic transmission failed while driving, causing a loss of propulsion and leaving the vehicle stranded. This created a safety hazard because the vehicle could no longer accelerate or move out of traffic. This is the fourth Chrysler/Dodge vehicle I have owned that has experienced a substantially similar transmission failure.

Is 20 complaints a lot? They were filed between 2020 and 2026, roughly 3 a year, which is fewer than the typical model in this dataset. We do not have sales figures for this model, so treat this as a rough volume, not a rate per car on the road. Popular, high-volume models naturally collect more complaints over time.

How does it compare with other years? The 2020 has 20 complaints on file, fewer than the 2019 (43). Of the 11 model years of the Dodge Grand Caravan we cover, the 2016 has the most (1,000). Older model years have had longer to collect complaints.
