Safety issues the manufacturer must repair for free. A recall means confirm the fix was done, not walk away.

No recalls on record for this model

No safety recalls were found in this dataset. It is still worth entering the exact VIN on NHTSA before purchase, since recalls can be added at any time.

The contact owns a 2022 Jeep Cherokee. The contact stated that while driving uphill at 30 MPH, the vehicle started jerking and then roll backwards with the accelerator pedal depressed. The contact stated that there was an abnormal rubbing sound coming from the vehicle, with the "4WD" and "Neutral Warning Vehicle May Move Even in Park" messages were displayed on the instrument panel. The contact immediately pulled over and shifted to park(P); however, the vehicle continued to roll backwards. The contact engaged the parking brake and called for Police assistance and an officer arrived and sat with the contact until a tow truck arrived. The vehicle was towed to the residence, and the contact was able to drive the vehicle onto the driveway and parked the vehicle. Upon investigation, the contact discovered NHTSA Campaign Number: 26V290000 (Power Train); however, the part for the recall repair was unavailable. Neither the dealer nor the manufacturer was notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 66,000.

Previously reported that my vehicle was throwing the code for the 40D. I returned today, vehicle vehicle start to slam, jerk. Jeep Cares escalated after dealership tech confirmed active failure. Fuse pulled, but can't really drive my car to avoid damages. Now waiting for them to give dealership approval to order part. I still have the 5,/60 Warranty. It's red tape and leaving me driving a dangerous vehicle or be grounded. I'm now waiting fit the case manager to call dealership. This is very upsetting and I blame Chrysler, but the actual dealership. There are 61k vehicles and no scene of urgency. I'm filing the complaint.

The vehicle makes a "pumping" noise when starting to acquire cruising speed. The noise started after the front brakes had to be replaced a few months after the purchase. Before the installation of the new brakes it was just fine. The car has been checked for this noise about two times already but the noise being intermittent is not always present when being checked. There has not been any warning lights or messages.

The car has over 18000 miles, in March 2025 we noticed a rattle at the right front area while going over rough roads. we took the car to the (Dealer Cerritos Jeep) and were told that the right front strut was (Broken ?) and it was under warrantee. Then was told the strut was out of production and it would be May 30 before they could get the replacement, May 30 was told that the all the parts did not arrive, we left the car there June 23, June 24 they said the design had changed and needed to get more mounting parts to install it. today we pick the car up QUESTION: I was taught that when replacing an suspension you don't replace just one, you replace two! my research says that it is still a practice today. The dealer is replacing only the right Strut, we are concerned the we have one questionable strut with 18000+ miles on and is in some way mechanically different then the new strut. The dealer stands on just replacing the one strut

I am submitting this complaint regarding a persistent and unresolved issue with the left front axle of my 2022 Jeep Cherokee X, which has been present since the day I purchased the vehicle new. Shortly after purchase, I brought the vehicle to the dealership due to a noticeable clicking sound coming from the front end. The dealer retained the vehicle for several days but stated they were unable to identify the source of the noise, although they indicated that a repair had been performed. Immediately upon leaving the dealership, the clicking sound was still present. I returned the vehicle, at which point it remained in their possession for approximately one week. During that visit, components in the left front end were replaced. Approximately one year later, while pulling out of a driveway under normal driving conditions, the left axle failed completely. The vehicle had to be towed back to the dealership, where it remained for another week. I was informed that the CV joint had been replaced. Now, roughly one year after that repair, I brought the vehicle in for a routine oil change. During this visit, the service manager showed me that grease is actively leaking from the same left front axle. I am also once again hearing the same clicking noise that initially prompted my first visit. This vehicle has low mileage, is driven approximately six miles per day, and is used primarily for local driving. It has never been used off-road and has not been subjected to any abnormal driving conditions or impacts. Given the repeated failures involving the same component, despite prior repairs, I am concerned about the safety and reliability of this vehicle. Additionally, this ongoing issue has significantly diminished the vehicle’s value, making it difficult to sell. I am extremely disappointed that a vehicle of this age and usage history continues to experience recurring axle failures without a lasting resolution.

Is 50 complaints a lot? They were filed between 2022 and 2026, roughly 12 a year, which is more than the typical model in this dataset. We do not have sales figures for this model, so treat this as a rough volume, not a rate per car on the road. Popular, high-volume models naturally collect more complaints over time.
