Built from NHTSA complaints and recalls collected for this model, generated September 21, 2026. Totals reflect what has been collected, not every complaint ever filed.

Recalls

0 total

Safety issues the manufacturer must repair for free. A recall means confirm the fix was done, not walk away.

No recalls on record for this model

No safety recalls were found in this dataset. It is still worth entering the exact VIN on NHTSA before purchase, since recalls can be added at any time.

While driving 45mph along a straight, open highway my vehicle suddenly shifted itself to park and stopped itself abruptly. I was then unable to shift the car out of park or move the brake or gas pedal or turn off the vehicle. This lasted for approximately 15 minutes and the car would not let me open the doors. All the dashboard lights were illuminated and my driver display screen stated if I took my foot off the brake the car would reverse. Eventually after 15 minutes of trying to shift and turn off the car it did shut off.

On XXX at approximately 630pm during rush-hour traffic crossing the XXX on [XXX], my 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited L (11,800 miles) the brake pedal went to the floor and the vehicle would not stop normally. The vehicle was towed to the dealer. This created a dangerous situation in heavy traffic with my child in the car and could have easily led to a collision. The vehicle was promptly taken to the closest authorized Jeep dealer. They diagnosed a Brake Vacuum Booster failure along with Diagnostic Trouble Code P057B-00 (Brake Pedal Position Sensor related). I have video footage of the symptom occurring and photos of the repair diagnosis. This is a new vehicle with very low mileage, and this unexpected failure raises serious safety concerns about potential defects in the brake system. I am requesting that NHTSA investigate this matter to determine if it affects other 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokees. Vehicle Information: • Make/Model/Year: Jeep Grand Cherokee 2024 • VIN: [XXX] • Mileage at time of failure: 11,800 miles • Date of purchase: 11/1/2024 No injuries or crash occurred, but the safety risk was SIGNIFICANT. No warning lamps were displayed relating to the recall. I was hit from behind while driving between 60 and 70MPH. I lost control and spun around twice before violently hitting a guard rail, perpendicular to the driver's side of my vehicle. The side/door airbags failed to deploy. My neck was thrown into the seatbelt and door. I suffered from partial vocal cord paralysis, tinnitus, dysphagia, loss of hearing, pain, and other symptoms due to the impact; my sternocleidomastoid and associated nerves being primarily affected. As a result I was out of work from May 13th, 2026 to July 3rd, 2026. I was not aware or notified about any recalls until after my accident. My vehicle was totalled.

Component/System: Windshield/visibility system and possible body sealing or A-pillar water intrusion affecting interior and defrost performance. The condition is available for inspection upon request. Description of the problem and safety risk: I purchased a new 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee L Altitude. Within months of purchase, the vehicle began experiencing water intrusion inside the cabin, which has led to persistent interior moisture, fogging, and mildew odor despite multiple repair attempts over the past year. A significant safety concern occurs while driving: the interior of the windshield can fog or condensate suddenly and heavily enough to reduce forward visibility. When this happens, I must slow down and consider pulling over until visibility clears. The condition typically resolves within approximately 1–2 minutes but has occurred repeatedly during normal driving. Loss of clear windshield visibility while the vehicle is in motion creates a potential driving hazard for myself, my child passenger, and other motorists. Reproduction/confirmation: The condition has been reported to and evaluated by an authorized Jeep dealership during multiple service visits. Repairs have been attempted, including extensive interior disassembly to locate a water leak, but the problem has persisted. Inspection by manufacturer or others: The dealership and Stellantis (manufacturer) have been involved through warranty repair attempts and case review. An independent evaluation is being pursued to determine the root cause. Warning lamps or prior symptoms: No warning lamps or electronic messages appeared prior to the visibility impairment. Symptoms include interior moisture accumulation, mildew odor, and intermittent heavy windshield condensation while driving.

Is 41 complaints a lot? They were filed between 2024 and 2026, roughly 24 a year, which is more than the typical model in this dataset. We do not have sales figures for this model, so treat this as a rough volume, not a rate per car on the road. Popular, high-volume models naturally collect more complaints over time.
