The vehicle was towed to the dealer, who determined that the CVVL (Continuously Variable Valve Lift) gasket had failed and the CVVL system needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure, and a case was filed. The failure mileage was approximately 46,000.

The contact stated that while operating the vehicle, the message "Electrical Battery Charging Fault" was displayed, and the battery warning light was illuminated. The contact referenced NHTSA Campaign Number: 26V248000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM); however, the VIN was not included in the recall. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic, where the alternator was replaced, and the vehicle was able to start; however, the mechanic determined that the failure was related to an unknown converter. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 61,000.
