Vehicle Information: Year: 2022 Make: Harley-Davidson Model: LiveWire VIN: [XXX] Mileage at time of incident: 4,762 Complaint Description: My 2022 Harley-Davidson LiveWire has experienced two separate On Board Charger (OBC, part #66000190B) failures within a short mileage window. The first failure occurred at approximately 2,400 miles and was replaced by Harley-Davidson of Scottsdale as a goodwill gesture. The replacement OBC failed again at approximately 4,600 miles — only 2,200 miles on the replacement component. During my repair process, the service director at Harley-Davidson of Scottsdale informed a Channel 7 news reporter that the replacement OBC installed in my motorcycle was a warranty part that should have been destroyed per Harley-Davidson policy — not resold. This raises serious questions about whether defective warranty parts are being reintroduced into the supply chain. Additionally, a service representative at Bert's Barracuda Harley-Davidson in [XXX] reported two separate out-of-box OBC failures on LiveWire units, suggesting a pattern of component defects across multiple motorcycles. The OBC failure leaves the motorcycle completely unable to charge, rendering it inoperable and creating a potential safety risk.
