The light turned green. The truck got up to fourth gear and slipped all the lights on the dash lit up so I took it to the first transmission shop where they said transmission just went out at 75,140 miles pretty much the exact mileage for my first service according to the book in the glove box I took it to Nissan dealership where they said it was the shift selector needed to be changed for a total of $1600. I had it done. I drove it a half a mile down the road and it did it again. They said they drove it over 14 miles with no problem but my odometer says different now they’re telling me I need a new transmission for $9214.03. I’ve done a lot of research and googled other people having the same problem. I called Nissan corporation they offered to pay 60% for a new transmission. This tells me they know something is wrong with it. After taxes I will have spent over $11,800 for a new transmission at 75,000 miles. This should not have happened.

This vehicle has less than 5000 miles. While trying to make a turn the power steering went out. Luckily I was moving at a low rate of speed but fear that someone else may experience this at a high rate of speed and end up with more tragic results. If they do not have the part to fix this vehicle as I am being told then why are they still building them. I am paying insurance on a vehicle that I cannot use. Either fix the vehicle or refund me my money because as it stands now this vehicle is totally worthless.

A warning light came on my dash. When I took it to the dealership they told me my airbag module would need to be replaced based on their diagnostic. They told me my airbags are possibly not working at this time. I feel this is a huge safety issue. Since I am unable to afford the $2919.90 to have it replaced I am driving a unsafe vehicle.

We are having trouble with the passenger door being inoperative. It will not unlock with the fob or manually, trapping the occupant in the passengers seat. Using AI we determined this is not an isolated problem. A person of my age cannot get out of the car which could present a very serious problem for the occupant.

Is 111 complaints a lot? They were filed between 2021 and 2026, roughly 23 a year, which is more than the typical model in this dataset. We do not have sales figures for this model, so treat this as a rough volume, not a rate per car on the road. Popular, high-volume models naturally collect more complaints over time.

How does it compare with other years? The 2022 has 111 complaints on file, more than the 2021 (18) and more than the 2023 (66). That is the most of the 15 model years of the Nissan Frontier we cover. Older model years have had longer to collect complaints.
