2023 Piaggio MP3 530 Exclusive scooter developed severe internal clouding and crazing inside the left headlight assembly at very low mileage. The right headlight remains clear under identical operating conditions. The defect appears internal to the sealed headlight assembly and is not normal exterior condensation. The affected headlight has progressively become difficult to see through and may reduce lighting effectiveness and visibility at night. The issue appears to involve deterioration or failure of the internal lens or coating within the sealed assembly. The scooter has extremely low mileage and presents essentially as a near-new vehicle. No crash damage or external impact occurred. The scooter remains available for inspection upon request. A Piaggio dealer advised they have seen lighting and condensation related replacement issues previously but indicated limited ability to assist because the vehicle is technically outside formal warranty despite near-new condition and mileage. The defect raises concern regarding durability and safety of the headlight assembly on this model as reduced headlight clarity and output may affect nighttime visibility and rider safety.

The contact owns a 2023 Piaggio MP3 530 Exclusive Motorcycle. The contact stated that while his feet were on the running board with the wheels locked, the motorcycle jumped to the right and he fell to the ground and sustained injuries to his elbow, muscles, and arm. The driver was taken to the hospital and was provided medical attention. There were no warning lights illuminated. While at a stop light the accelerator pedal was applied and the motorcycle moved forward. While disengaging the brake, the motorcycle jolted towards the right. The local dealer was not contacted. The motorcycle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was unknown.
