Recalls
Safety issues the manufacturer must repair for free. A recall means confirm the fix was done, not walk away.
No recalls on record for this model
No safety recalls were found in this dataset. It is still worth entering the exact VIN on NHTSA before purchase, since recalls can be added at any time.

I am submitting a safety complaint regarding my 2022 Ram 3500/Thor Class B RV, VIN [XXX], with only approximately 6,858 miles, which I brought to a dealer in the Inland Empire for Recall [XXX]. Before taking my truck to the dealer, there was no known coolant leak. The vehicle was in good condition and operating normally. I left the truck with the dealer specifically for the recall service. After approximately two days, the dealer called me and said they had found a coolant-system leak and that I would need to pay approximately 1,500 for repairs. I was surprised because there was no known leak when I delivered the vehicle. I immediately contacted MOPAR for assistance and asked whether the leak could be related to the recall service or whether the repair should be covered. Unfortunately, MOPAR did not resolve my concern. I declined the 1,500 repair. The dealer told me they could not guarantee there would be no leaks after the recall repair was completed. When I picked up my truck, the dealer did not tell me that the coolant leak was still present or warn me about driving the vehicle. I drove the truck home. After getting home, I opened the hood and discovered a long screwdriver left inside the engine compartment. I am not claiming that the dealer caused the coolant leak. However, I am concerned about the timing of the leak, the recall service, the 1,500 repair demand, the lack of warning at pickup, and the screwdriver left in the engine compartment. I respectfully request that NHTSA investigate whether this coolant leak may be related to Recall 67C, the recall repair, an improper repair, or another safety defect. NOTE: I am now seeing on your website that it appears the Recall 67C repair has not been recorded as completed for my vehicle. I have uploaded a screenshot of the information shown on the website for your reference. Please review this discrepancy as part of my complaint. Promaster 3500 Forward Collision Warning turning itself off in Uconnect. Uconnect is where you can turn off FCW or set it to warning only, or warning and braking. I want it ON all the time but it keeps setting itself OFF. I turn on the vehicle and I see the warning light indicating it is turned OFF. I have to go into setting and set it manually. I will travel to get gas and when I re start the vehicle it is set OFF again. If I don't happen to notice it, I'm traveling down the road without this safety feature, which to me is dangerous and just not right. My Promaster is a Roadtrek van and the service manager at the dealer where I purchased the van says he sees this light on all the time on other Promaster vehicles and just ignores it. I see many posts on Roadtrek and Promaster forums that reference people having the same issue. Ram dealer finally acknowledged the issue but is unable to get any acknowledgement from the manufacturer that they are working on a fix. I've had this issue from day one and have taken it to the dealer several times with no resolution. This is one thread that documents what I have experienced as well: [XXX] INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

Brakes failed (for the 4th or 5th time) while driving on the highway after approximately two hours. While traveling approximately 55mph on the highway (I do not drive engaging the brakes unless stopping) the Notice Service Braking System alert indicated on the dash. When I went to push in the brakes, they went to the floor, grinding and "pulsing" in and out as I attempted to stop. Please note that this issue has happened 3-4 times in the past and the dealership assures me this is normal. I was able to successfully get the vehicle to a dealership. THEY SAID THE STORED CODES MEANT NOTHING because they were stored and not active (see attached)That dealership stated they could not find anything wrong and therefore nothing to fix. I then drove the vehicle another two hours and the same thing happened. I got the vehicle to another dealership where it is now until they remedy the situation. In addition, when starting the vehicle from a cold state, the brakes often go to the floor and grind. Again, the dealership assures me this is 'normal' and to simply pump the brakes to remove excess air. This is a new vehicle with less than 8k miles, purchased new and has been occurring since purchased.

I bought a New Dodge Ram 3500 cargo van in 2022. The van currently has 48,000 miles and the steering started violently pulling, almost causing a wreck on a couple of occasions. I took into the dealership and they said the wiring harness for the steering rack is bad and not under warranty. This is a manufacturer defect, looking online there are hundreds of cases just like mine, with a couple of serious wrecks. The manufacture knows that water is getting in the steering harness wiring, causing it to short out and corrode. The dealership is telling me that not only is the part not under warranty, but they don't have it and have no idea when they will get this part. I had the exact same issues with another one of my vans last year. it took six months for the repair part to come in. Two vans, one with 20,000 miles and one with 48,000 miles, both the same issues and the same issue getting the correct replacement part.

Component/System: Structure – Cowl / Air Intake / Engine Issue: Water intrusion through cowl leading to intake flooding and engine hydrolock Summary of the Defect The vehicle experienced a catastrophic engine failure caused by water intrusion through the two piece cowl assembly. The seal between the two cowl sections failed, allowing rainwater to pour directly into the engine compartment. The intake manifold sits directly beneath this leak point and contains a recessed area where water can pool. After heavy rainfall, water entered the intake system and subsequently reached cylinders 2 and 4, causing the engine to hydrolock upon startup. The engine was rendered inoperable at only 29,139 miles. Detailed Description of the Incident The vehicle was parked outside an auto repair facility for a routine battery replacement. It was not driven during this period. Over the course of two heavy rain events, water entered the engine compartment through the failed seam in the two piece cowl. When the repair facility attempted to start the vehicle, the engine immediately hydrolocked. Upon disassembly: •The air intake tract was found full of water. •The intake manifold contained pooled water. •Cylinders 2 and 4 contained water. •The engine suffered internal damage consistent with hydrolock and was declared a total loss. All findings were documented by the mechanic, including photographs and diagnostic notes. Safety Concern This failure represents a serious safety defect. Water intrusion through a structural component should not be able to reach the intake manifold or engine cylinders under any circumstances — especially while the vehicle is stationary. A sudden hydrolock event can cause: •Immediate engine shutdown •Loss of motive power •Loss of power steering and braking assist •Potential loss of control if occurring while driving •Extremely costly engine destruction Inspected by mechanic. Nobody else. No warnings.
