The contact owns a 2022 Toyota Corolla Cross. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the message "Engine Maintenance Required" was displayed on the instrument panel. The vehicle was taken to a dealer, where it was diagnosed with an internal failure, and the engine coolant bypass valve needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was notified of the failure.

I was driving on [XXX] in Miami, FL. As I stopped at a red light, the STOP/START process powered the car down. Then, all systems turned off. I put the car in park and turned the key, the engine would not turn over. I was stranded in the middle of traffic. To no avail, I tried to start the engine at least five times. Strangers helped me to push the car to the side of the road. After about 15 minutes, the car turned on weakly. I drove immediately to the Toyota dealership. My brand new 2023 Toyota Corolla Cross has 2 issues: 1) The 'pre-collision' feature brakes when I don't need it to. I told Toyota that I've almost got into car accidents but they said they 'can't turn it off'. 2) There is paint peeling from my front bumper for no reason. Brian Kessler at Marietta Toyota said “it's likely because when I ordered my car in 'white', the bumper was black, so they painted it without primer”. They keep telling me that "they'll call me regarding this issue", but they haven't. This vehicle's pre-collision system is over-sensitive as it continues to attempt to prevent an accident by taking control of the vehicle when I don't need/want it to. It suddenly brakes when I need to continue in motion to avoid a particular hazard, potentially causing an accident. I’ve been driving for 30+ years, and I have an impeccable driving record, so I don’t need my car to ‘think’ for me and take control of the vehicle. The service department at Marietta Toyota told me to contact Toyota.com to have them give me a ‘waiver’ with Toyota, stating that if I am involved in a motor vehicle accident as a result of this feature, then Toyota will be responsible. I spoke with at least 3 Toyota representatives at your Brand Engagement center, and was told that this feature cannot be removed, nor is there any ‘waiver’ form. Then they told me that since there is nothing 'wrong' with the car, there is nothing they can do. The last representative I spoke to told me that my complaint has been recorded and is on my ‘Toyota file’. He agreed to email me a copy of my complaint and the case number attached to my record, but I never received an email from him. I can't get them to return my calls, and I'm tired of driving to and from the service department just for them to tell me that they'll 'call me', when they have not. I am beyond angry as my issues regarding this vehicle are not resolved, and I feel betrayed by a company that has falsely gained my trust, and then destroyed it

Driver side knee bolster airbag did not inflate correctly resulting in impact of lower leg to airbag hatch door and under dash area. Driver and passenger seatbelts flung open during accident. Driver hit top of thigh against steering wheel. No safety recalls per VIN search. No warning lamps, messages, or symptoms proof to accident.

While driving at highway speeds 65mph in HOV lane (wall was to driver side), the back driver side window exploded. There was no external objects on the road that could explain the damage. No scratches or other body damage to suggest something was kicked up or impacted it. The window spontaneously exploded sending shards of glass inside the back of the vehicle. Upon inspection of the back inside of the vehicle there is no foreign objects to explain the explosion. The windows were not down or cracked, temperature outside was 83F with no winds or other weather. This is a hazard especially to back passengers and god forbid drivers. Please take this account to make Toyota fix this issue, it’s unsafe.

Bracket for Right rear differential cracked and broke in two separate places. causing a severe banging noise when turning right or left and or going from backing up to forward motion. have video and Toyota report . never went over any pot holes and was in driveway when noise started backing up. vehicle currently at freehold Toyota dealership service dept. component item was seen by service mngr, service tech and several others stating they never saw anything like this before. the whole wheel could have broken off while driving causing death or severe injury to my family. it broke in two separate places on either side of bolts holding rest together . Have Toyota Premier vsa Protection plan-Toyota states not part of protection??This could have killed us on the highway if the whole rear wheel fell off and we flipped over.
