When shutting the vehicle off, I repeatedly get a “shift to park” error message. The truck will not shut down fully until this message goes away and can drain the battery. I have read this is a common Chevy problem in other models and others who I have talked to have the same issue. The local dealer wanted $170 just to scan it even though I feel they know the issue. The problem started right after the warrant expired and GM sent through a “software push notification” with no explanation what it was for. This feels too coincidental for me and GMs response was to take it to the dealer, not covered by warranty.

Issue: Tailgate unlatches unexpectedly Erratic behavior consistent with electronic release switch malfunction I am reporting a safety concern involving the tailgate on my 2022 Chevrolet Silverado 3500 HD. The tailgate exhibits erratic behavior and has unlatched unexpectedly without user input. I can support this claim with documented video evidence I took while the vehicle was parked. This condition is consistent with the defect described in General Motors safety recall N232426400, which involves water intrusion into the tailgate exterior electronic release switch, potentially causing a short circuit and unintended tailgate opening. Although my vehicle is not included in the recall population based on VIN, it is the same model year, platform, and equipped with the same power-unlatching tailgate system. The failure mode I am experiencing matches the recall description exactly. I brought the vehicle to a dealership for diagnosis. The dealership acknowledged familiarity with this issue and indicated they have observed similar failures on other trucks outside the recall VIN population. However, because my VIN is not included in the recall, I was told the repair would not be covered. General Motors offered only minimal goodwill assistance, and I was required to pay for the repair. This condition presents a safety risk, as an unlatched tailgate can allow cargo to exit the vehicle and create a roadway hazard, increasing the risk of a crash. I am submitting this complaint because the defect appears to extend beyond the currently identified VIN population, and I believe additional vehicles may be affected.

The contact owns a 2022 Chevrolet Silverado 3500. The contact stated that while driving 35 MPH with a trailer hitched to the vehicle, the trailer brake failed to respond on and off independently. Neither an independent mechanic nor a dealer was contacted. The trailer brake failure warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was not taken to a dealer or an independent mechanic to be diagnosed. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact associated the failure with N232414840 - Customer Satisfaction Program (Equipped with BRK APL CTRL FEATURE-INTEGRATED TRAILER BRAKE); however, the VIN was not included in the program. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that the VIN was not under recall. No assistance was provided. The approximate failure mileage was 50,000.

My steering feels loose and truck doesn't sways and wanders. It wasn't that way when I got it and I only put like 20000 miles on it. It shouldn't be having these issues. Other models 23-24 have a recall for this same issue.

I was driving on freeway in rain, rear end of truck kicked out sideways due to hydroplane, I hit the cement median in the front of truck, spun around and the back end also hit median. I have $25,000 in damage and the frame is bent in 3 locations, however airbags didn't deploy. 1) Airbags didn't deploy, and yes available for inspection. 2) I think airbags should have gone off, all 4 of us hit our heads on something. 3) No, I mentioned it to them, but nothing has been done. 4) No inspection has been completed. 5) No, there were no warning lights or messages prior to the failure.
