Safety issues the manufacturer must repair for free. A recall means confirm the fix was done, not walk away.

No recalls on record for this model

No safety recalls were found in this dataset. It is still worth entering the exact VIN on NHTSA before purchase, since recalls can be added at any time.

This is the exact part that GM Internal Recall Number N252536750NHTSA Campaign Number: 26V-085 says has been recalled for year 2022 GMC Yukon XLs, and yet, my vehicle's VIN number is not on the recall list. How is it possible that my particular 2022 GMC Yukon XLs (VIN) doesn't qualify as one covered under the recall, when the exact problem that this recall was released for, and the exact part that this recall calls for a manufacturer's repair/replacement, occurred to my vehicle? My vehicle (VIN #: [XXX] needs to be added to the recall list, because this exact part failed on my vehicle. Airbags did not deploy. A car run a red light. I hit it on its passenger side. I was going about 45mph before the crash. I did slam my breaks before impact but I would guess I was still going 30-35mph at impact. Car has not been inspected yet. It is still in our possession. We have made in insurance claim. No warning light of any kind were on before the crash.

On two separate occasions the front windshield wipers have stopped functioning while driving in heavy rains. Seemingly the only way to resume the wipers working was to cycle through "rain sense" options in the vehicles settings menu and turn off and on the vehicle several times. Unclear if it was those actions or simply waiting that caused the problem to abate. Discussed the issue with our dealer when in for service but they advised that they have seen that problem before but don't know what causes it. There could be several issues but they cannot address unless they recreate the situation and it is so random that it is hard to do. There are some internet forums (one is linked below) where this problem is discussed so it is clearly not just our vehicle but some sort of design flaw. In any case, it is very, very dangerous. Is 164 complaints a lot? They were filed between 2022 and 2026, roughly 35 a year, which is more than the typical model in this dataset. We do not have sales figures for this model, so treat this as a rough volume, not a rate per car on the road. Popular, high-volume models naturally collect more complaints over time.
