Recall caused full engine failure which caused 75mph to abrupt stop on Highway. Violently shaking and leaked gas inside vehicle. I was confused because I had no collision and liberty mutual denied my claims, but I was hurt from a recall - dealer frequently recorded as fixed during a scam that caused me to lose my full savings and be stuck with a unfixed covered car. (Dealer tried to say they were helping me buy not charging $2500 and said they were sending my car to an impound.) causing me to pay $16k (full savings) towards 18k to clear the loan....the manager said I did not have a deal and that my impounded car would be $4k a month. (Way back confirms recall being fixed on records as I refused unsafe gas recall to be fixed. They sent the car back in pieces) I had to recover it from an abandoned nearby neighborhood and store it for years trying to get help - I am now 100% TBI and believe this gas leak and impact caused me injuries.

I HAVE HAD REPEATED FAILURES DRIVING MULTIPLE LR4 AND A RANGE ROVER SPORT (I OWN BOTH). IF WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE YOU LIGHTLY REST YOUR FOOT ON THE BRAKE PEDAL (FOR INSTANCE IN DRIVING IN CLOSE QUARTERS) THE CAR WILL ILLUMINATE MULTIPLE WANRING INDICATORS INCLUDING ENGINE FAILURE, BRAKE FAILURE, GEARBOX FAILURE, PARKING BRAKE FAILURE, ABS FAILURE, TRACTION CONTROL FAILURE, STABILITY CONTROL UNAVAILABLE AND CRUISE CONTROL UNAVAILABLE. GENERALLY WHEN THESE CONDITION OCCUR THESE SYSTEM WILL DEFAULT TO REDUCED FUNCTIONALITY MODES. THIS PROBLEM IS REPRODUCIBLE AND IS A KNOW ISSUE WITH THE DEALER AND LRNA. LAND ROVER HAS ACKNOWLEDGED THIS ISSUE AND HAS NO CURRENT FIX OR PLANNED FIX. ITS APPARENT CAUSE IS A TWO STAGE BRAKE SWITCH WHICH CAUSES A SOFTWARE FAULT WHEN ONLY ONE OF THE TWO SWITCHES IS ENGAGED. LAND ROVER CANNOT CONFIRM THAT THE FAILURE OF THESE SYSTEM DOES NOT COMPROMISE THE SAFETY OF THE CAR. AT THE LEAST THIS FRIGHTENS THE DRIVER WITH WHAT APPEARS TO BE A MASSIVE SYSTEMS FAILURE OR AT WORST COMPROMISES VIRTUALLY ALL THE ELECTRONIC SAFETY SYSTEMS OF THE CAR. THIS ISSUE SEEMS TO APPLY TO THE LR4, RANGE ROVER SPORT, RANGE ROVER AND JAGUAR MODELS THAT USE THE SAME ENGINE COMPUTER SOFTWARE AND BRAKE SWITCH. MY RESEARCH HAS SHOWN OTHER OWNERS HAVE EXPERIENCED SIMILAR ISSUES

I called the Jaguar Land Rover dealership located in Frisco, TX to schedule a maintenance appointment. Before asking what type of maintenance I needed the representative continued to tell me that my vehicle could not be serviced there. I asked why and was told they do not the tools to fix it due to it being a 2010 model. They also said I had 2 recalls but maybe I could try another service facility.
