Recalls
Safety issues the manufacturer must repair for free. A recall means confirm the fix was done, not walk away.

I was pulling out onto a main road, pressed the accelerator and "not much" happened. The car accelerated to maybe 5 mph and no faster. Took my foot off the accelerator and pushed it to the floor. No response. It was like the vehicle only ran on EV mode and did not turn the engine on. In a second or more returned to normal and could not reproduce what happened. On coming traffic had to break. There was enough room to pull out under normal situations.

I own a 2022 Toyota Sienna with approximately 67,680 miles. The vehicle began displaying warnings for **Blind Spot Monitor Malfunction, Rear Cross Traffic Alert Malfunction, and Parking Support Brake Unavailable**. A Toyota dealer diagnosed the problem and found significant corrosion at **both rear blind spot monitor connections**. The wiring harness connector pins had corroded/broken off inside the blind spot monitor sensors. The dealer recommends replacing both blind spot monitors and the rear bumper wiring harness and recalibrating the system. The estimated repair cost is **$3,945.84**. I am concerned that both sides of this safety-related system experienced severe corrosion on a vehicle that is less than five years old. These components are not scheduled maintenance or wear items. I have also found reports of other 2021–2022 Toyota Sienna owners experiencing blind spot monitoring failures involving corrosion of the rear sensor/connectors, including another 2022 Sienna at approximately 65,000 miles. Toyota's Brand Engagement Center has documented my complaint but declined to review the repair for goodwill assistance because the vehicle is outside the basic warranty and has not been serviced exclusively at Toyota dealerships. I am filing this complaint because the corrosion simultaneously disables multiple driver-assistance/safety functions and appears unusually premature. I believe NHTSA should investigate whether corrosion or inadequate protection of the rear blind spot monitor connections is affecting other 2021–2024 Toyota Siennas.

Passenger side mid row seat belt was completely pulled but won’t retract anymore. I just brought my Sienna to Toyota to get it fixed for a $299.00 plus whatever extra cost will be. I want to make sure this is not a safety factory issue vs unfortunate event.

I am reporting a potential safety issue involving the passenger-side power sliding door on a 2022 Toyota Sienna. On XXX my [XXX] child was outside the vehicle in a wagon while the passenger-side sliding door was closing. He reached toward the vehicle, and his fingers became trapped in the sliding door, closest to the front passenger door. The power door did not stop or reverse after contacting his fingers. It continued closing, clicked shut, and fully latched with his fingers caught in the door. We immediately opened the door and removed his hand. Thankfully, he was not seriously injured, but the incident had the potential to cause a severe hand or finger injury. I am concerned that the obstruction-detection or pinch-protection system did not detect an infant’s fingers in this location. I am submitting this complaint so the incident is documented and can be compared with any similar reports involving Toyota Sienna power sliding doors. Stitching on the driver seat is tearing. Under normal wear. The vehicle is just out of the 3 year/36,000 warranty period. If the seat continues to degrade it will not be safe for future use as it worsens.
